Apply to Volunteer
ACHEC volunteer evaluators have two primary responsibilities:
- Assess institutional or program compliance with ACHEC accreditation standards within the context of the institution’s mission.
- Provide constructive recommendations to support academic quality and continuous improvement.
To apply, contact the ACHEC Director of Accreditation or Secretary.
Value of Peer Review
Peer review is the foundation of accreditation worldwide. ACHEC considers peer review essential for institutional assessment, innovation evaluation, and academic improvement. Through peer review, institutions are assessed against shared standards for academic quality and student achievement.
To support this process, ACHEC has established committees and honorary advisory boards composed of volunteers and panel members.
Volunteer Profiles
ACHEC peer reviewers are education specialists and evaluators with expertise in higher education, including pedagogical delivery, online learning systems, academic services, learning outcomes assessment, and student success.
ACHEC also maintains an honorary Global Board of Advisors who serve as regional representatives and volunteers. Interested individuals or nominees may submit a detailed CV and photograph for initial screening.
Volunteer Training
All volunteers must complete an online Evaluator Training Tutorial before serving. This training is available through the ACHEC Online Training Centre and is provided at no cost.
Why Volunteer with ACHEC
Volunteers often describe service on ACHEC evaluation committees as one of the most valuable forms of professional development. Volunteers gain insight into best practices, accreditation standards, and international collaboration with academic peers.
The effectiveness of ACHEC’s accreditation and rating processes depends on the dedication and expertise of volunteer evaluators.
